'Dark Souls 2' release date for PS4 and Xbox One consoles

There's great news coming for fans and players of "Dark Souls 2."  Namco Bandai and From Software just announced that the game will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. What a delight that would be for next-gen console users.

But the good news doesn't stop there because "Dark Souls 2" on PS4 and Xbox One will actually come with a bunch of awesome things. For one, there will be three available downloadable add-ons. Next, there will be new enhancements in the game.

"Dark Souls 2" is one very exciting game to watch out for because it's a revamped and much-improved version. According to Polygon, the "Dark Souls 2" versions for PS4 and Xbox One will provide players with fresh content, such as an expanded story and more in-game events, as well as better graphics, more fearsome foes, and, generally, better gameplay.

These improvements will also be available on the PC version of the game "Scholar of the First Sin." The developers made sure to maximize the full potential of the game by using Windows DirectX 11.

The improved gameplay, new game content and the augmented item descriptions are all part of what From Software calls the Version 1.1.0 of "Dark Souls 2." And aside from the PC version using DirectX 11, it will also be available for the PC version with DirectX 9. Further, this new version will also be coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

But wait, there's still more good news for avid gamers. Those using the PS3 or Xbox 360 will be glad to know that getting the 1.1.0 update is free.

Polygon also uploaded the announcement trailer as well as a couple of screenshots of the game.  One of the screenshots shows the increased multi-player battle — six players duking it out.

"Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin" re-release will happen on April 7, 2015.
