Game publisher Bandai Namco announced in a Tumblr post that the much-awaited updated version of "Dark Souls 2" will be made available across different platforms this coming month. "Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin" will be imported first for Windows PC on April 1 via online game download site Steam, with the versions for consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4 coming on April 7.

"Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin" serves as the Director's Cut version for the game franchise. When it launches next month, the title will contain the original content and its DLCs along with new features. The console versions will include new weapons and armor, enemies, map shortcuts, and a revamped gameplay, such as increasing max online players to six at once. The new content will also feature NPCs able to invade player worlds. In terms of design, the new title will introduce upgrades to graphics, sounds, and overall game performance.

As such, there will be a new scheme price for the title. For those players who want to experience the "Dark Souls II" franchise and will buy the upcoming title for the first time, the DirectX11 version will cost $49.99. However, it will only be priced at $29.99 for those who already own "Dark Souls 2" on Steam. For players who are hardcore fans and are already proud owners of both the game and all DLC packs on Steam, getting the updated version will cost only $19.99.

In time for the game's PC release on April 1, the publisher also announced the minimum and recommended requirements to get a fulfilling and satisfying experience of the new game.

For the operating system, the PC must run on at least Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 on 64-bit, with an Intel Core i3 processor. In terms of video hardware, the computer must at least have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 465 or ATI Radeon HD 6870, running DirectX: 11. Other specs required are a 23 GB available space on the hard drive and a DirectX:11 capable sound card.
