The "Dark Souls" franchise is famous for its soul-crushing difficulty, and with the new game coming out next year, players are eager to find out what features they can expect.

One of the key features that will be included in the upcoming title will be respecialization. For those who may not be familiar with the term, respecialization basically allows players to change the way they have built up their characters while in the middle of a playthrough. Most of the time, players need to start a new game if they want to reallocate the stat points they have already used, but this feature would make that unnecessary. It's unclear if there will be an item like the Soul Vessel that will be available in "Dark Souls 3" for the purposes of respecialization, according to Game Informer.

Fast travel will also be present yet again in "Dark Souls 3." The feature that allows players to cut time they would otherwise need to just wander from place to place is seen as an important implement of convenience by From Software President Hidetaka Miyazaki, and thus, it stays.

The summoning system in "Dark Souls 3" will be familiar to the ones players have seen in previous installments of the franchise, so players who may have been wondering if the upcoming game would be taking a cue from "Bloodborne" can put those concerns to rest.

There will also be previous features of "Dark Souls" games that will not be included in the new title, according to Polygon.

The feature known as Bonfire ascetics, which allow players to increase the difficulty of specific regions, will apparently not be included in the new game.

Players can also expect the weapons in the new game to be tweaked to feature added durability.

"Dark Souls 3" will be available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
