Fans looking forward to the arrival of "Dark Souls 3" later on this year now have some new gameplay footage that they can sink their teeth into.

The game's developer, From Software, showed off some new gameplay footage in a recent livestream.

During the livestream, the game's developers touched on several of the features being introduced in "Dark Souls 3," but arguably the most significant parts of the footage were the ones that showed off the new Thief class.

In a video shared by GameSpot that focused on the highlights of the livestream, fans are able to see exactly how the Thief will move around and execute attacks inside "Dark Souls 3."

The video shows that the new characters who belong to the Thief class will be capable of pulling off fatal stealth attacks after creeping up on their opponents from behind. They will also be able to execute other lateral and evasive maneuvers that can help lead to them being able to pull off another fatal strike.

What's clear from the video is that the Thief inside "Dark Souls 3" will be a character that is reliant to some degree on being agile and elusive, so players interested in that style of gameplay will want to give this class a try.

The video also shows that the Thief will be wielding a shield and small blade inside the game.

In addition, From Software also showed off some of the new areas inside "Dark Souls 3" that some say are reminiscent of settings found in "Bloodborne." The similar design may not be an accident, since From Software also developed "Bloodborne."

"Dark Souls 3" is scheduled to launch in the United States and other regions on April 12, Eurogamer reported, although it will be available before then.

Japanese gamers will have early access to "Dark Souls 3" since it will be launched in the country on March 24.
