Just days after its global release, "Dark Souls III" has already reached legendary status for its publisher, Bandai Namco. Reportedly, the new franchise installment has already broken previous sales numbers for the company, and well in the way of establishing new sales records.

According to Bandai Namco, "Dark Souls III" has already reached monumental status in the company, as the game is already considered one of the fastest-selling titles in the company's history. In addition, Bandai Namco has also revealed that "Dark Souls III" has also achieved the distinction of being the most successful day-one launch out of all the game titles in the publisher's games list.

IGN reports that Bandai Namco has yet to provide sales figures to back up its claim. However, the industry follower said that according to sources in the company, the current installment release continues to surge ahead, and has already outsold "Dark Souls II" by as much as 61 percent.

According to ComingSoon, while "Dark Souls III" maintains the same hack-and-slash mechanics of the franchise, developer FromSoftware made the gameplay very much different from previous versions. In addition, the latest installment heralded the return of Hidetaka Miyazaki at the helm. These may be some of the factors that makes "Dark Souls III" generate such interest among gamers.

In "Dark Souls III," the combat mechanics have been tweaked, adding some gameplay like Skills and unique, modified attach patterns for each weapon type. In addition, the varied patterns in combat and movement makes "Dark Souls III" much more customized for the players, since each weapon and armor sets have their own styles, and each can be fitted to a character to suit a player's style of gameplay.

"Dark Souls III" is currently available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC. A patch is scheduled to roll out today that further tweaks interface, system, and gameplay for the title.
