"Darkest Dungeon's" upcoming DLC "The Color of Madness"Darkest Dungeon

Red Hook Studios has announced the third downloadable content (DLC) for the turn-based role-playing video game "Darkest Dungeons." The DLC package "The Color of Madness" is scheduled for release in spring 2018.

The storyline of the DLC centers on the Comet that crashed in the old Miller's farm in Hamlet. According to Red Hook Studios, the Comet, considered a "hateful shard of alien origin," has influenced the mind of everyone who saw it, turning them into savages.

The description of the DLC reads, "Those unfortunate enough to witness the Comet's arrival have been blinded by what they can only describe as a shifting, ephemeral hue of damnably abrasive intensity."

"The Color of Madness" brings a new Quest to the table wherein players are tasked to hold off enemies that are forcing themselves to the Comet crash site. The quest will feature endless waves. Players will be aided by new trinkets. The DLC will launch new trinkets available to be purchased from the Nomad Wagon. There are no further details about the trinkets and their functionality.

Red Hook Studios has not also released any information on how much the DLC will cost. The game developer also announced that "The Shieldbreaker" DLC is now available for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. The studio is also working on the DLCs to be included in the iPad.

Meanwhile, Red Hook Studios has released information about "Darkest Dungeons" for the Nintendo Switch. A fan of the game asked the Studio about the release date of the game for the Switch via Twitter to which Red Hook replied with, "We put some details in the blog post. TL;DR Hopefully will be mid Jan."

The dungeon crawling video game received high ratings from video game critics. The game received a score of 9 out of 10 from GameSpot and a 84 percent score rating from Metacritic.
