'Days Gone' release date news: Delayed to 2019

"Days Gone" delayed for 2019 release, Sony confirms.Sony/Days Gone

Zombie apocalypse games are a trend that most games such as "Days Gone" follow. The open-world survival game by developer Sony Bend was originally planned to be released this year. However, recent news state that the game has been delayed for another year, to 2019, on the PlayStation 4 (PS4).

The news first came up when the listing for the game on the PlayStation website was recently updated to reflect the new 2019 release. While this was not actually announced, Sirus Gaming confirmed this via Sony's reply to their email. "We can confirm that Days Gone will now be releasing in 2019 and we will keep you updated on the launch date," Sony said.

"Days Gone" is one game that many fans have been waiting for and unfortunately, this is the last kind of news they would want to hear. It had gathered millions of views on its gameplay from YouTube as Sony originally announced a 2018 release date back in November 2018.

The game is about Deacon St. John who is a mercenary and a motorcycle officer, per Polygon. Given the zombie apocalyptic setting, he — thus, the player — will try to make his way to survive. Fans would easily recognize the game as the one with a massive horde of zombies coming right at the player.

The game first made its appearance back at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2016 and again in 2017. It first started development in 2015. It was during the E3 in 2016 that the horde of zombies was featured, and in 2017, the features expanded to show that even animals can turn into zombies, with the appearance of zombie bears and wolves in the gameplay.

There is a lot to expect from "Days Gone" given its setting, gameplay, character, and of course, its fast-running zombies. However, fans will just have to wait for another year.
