Some characters have been coming back to Salem lately and more faces popping up in town in time for the holiday season. "Days of Our Lives" spoilers indicate that three characters are confirmed to check back into Salem, whether for a temporary visit or for the long haul.

Starting with Jack (Matthew Ashford), who will make an appearance in the coming episodes. Although he is actually six feet under, he will appear to JJ (Casey Moss) in a vision. JJ will recall memories with his family as he plans to commit suicide, so Jack will also appear in flashbacks. There is a possibility that seeing Jack will play a factor in stopping JJ from going through with the act.

Next is Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel), who will be making a grand entrance on New Year's Eve. She will have a connection with a new character coming into the show, played by Tyler Christopher. The two of them will come to Salem on Dec. 29.

Then, there is Nicole (Arianne Zucker), who just left town months ago. She will be bringing baby Holly back home to Salem in time for Christmas. She will come back a few days before Christmas, perhaps to let Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) spend some time with Holly. Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) and Parker (Christian Ganiere) will probably be able to visit her offscreen too.

However, Nicole is also coming back for other reasons. She might be checking in on Brady (Eric Martsolf). Nicole might be wondering if he has softened up since the last time they met. Fans know that they ended on a bitter note. Nicole will also hope that Brady is willing to explain the whole situation to Eric (Greg Vaughan). She has hated herself for breaking his heart so abruptly without telling him why.

Plus, there is also the fact that Deimos' (Vincent Irizarry) murder investigation is still going on. Nicole turned out to be the one that stabbed Deimos at the Martin house that night. Brady might use this against her since he is under hot water for framing Eve (Kassie DePaiva).

Meanwhile, "Days of Our Lives" spoilers for Friday's episode indicate that Steve (Stephen Nichols) will be waiting for the perfect time to bust Kate (Lauren Koslow). He has a plan up his sleeve, but he has not revealed the details yet to Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) or Tripp (Lucas Adams). Steve will hope that he can get Kate to confess her part in Theo's (Kyler Pettis) shooting.

Now, Steve does not want to reveal the truth to the police himself since Kate also has something over their heads. It seems like if Kate is going down, then she will be taking both Tripp and Kayla down with her. But, Tripp and Kayla can still remain unharmed if Kate ends up exposing herself. As long as Steve keeps his own plan a secret, Kate could be ratting on herself.

Unfortunately for Kate, this will all be revealed come next week. Chad (Billy Flynn) will learn a thing or two about the truth due to Steve, so in turn, he will plot to make her pay. There will definitely be some trouble, and there are a lot of ways that she can pay for the damage she has set in motion.

Chad might try and take the DiMera CEO position away from Kate. He could hold a press conference about her actions if he intends to publicly humiliate her. Then again, this already happened before with Andre (Thaao Penghlis) so it is possible that Chad's method would be different. Or, he might resort to the simplest method of them all: Pile on the guilt before he turns her into the police, as the police will eventually learn about this.

"Days of Our Lives" airs Mondays to Fridays, 1 p.m. EST on NBC.
