Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson wants to give a smack to Marvel, figuratively, as the wrestler-turned-actor has declared support for DC stating that the Avengers need to "get their ass kicked."

In his promotion for his newest movie "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle," The Rock was asked which superhero he would like to pull into the world of Jumanji, and the former wrestler took a shot against Marvel. He answered, "Here's the thing, it's not just one celebrity I would pull in. No, no, no. I would pull them all in. And the all who I'm talking about are The Avengers. I'd pull them all in. All of them need their ass kicked because it's DC baby! That's how we roll! Black Adam."

It is worth noting that The Rock is also set to play Black Adam in the upcoming DC movie of the same name, meaning he is now officially part of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Black Adam is one of the supervillain enemies of the DC superhero Shazam. Both have the same powers, but The Rock will be playing a relatively more evil character.

Website Screen Rant, however, has suggested that Marvel fans not take The Rock's playful taunts seriously, as they are most likely just showmanship. Rest assured, The Rock does not bear ill-will toward the DC counterpart, though he seems to be in a rather competitive state especially with his upcoming Black Adam stint.

It can be recalled that the most recent foray of the DCEU in cinema was not as well received as Marvel's. DC's "Justice League" movie was reportedly a disaster, given how popular their source material is and how stellar the cast was. Unfortunately for the "Justice League," it just could not hold a candle against Marvel's "The Avengers" back in 2012, both commercially and critically.

Whether The Rock as Black Adam can turn the tables against Marvel and save DCEU remains to be seen, as there is currently no expected release yet for "Black Adam."
