The CW has officially ordered a pilot season for the hotly-anticipated "Arrow" and "The Flash" spinoff. It was also confirmed that the show will indeed be called "Legends of Tomorrow." The all-new series that features a whole pack of superheroes and rogues, baddies and good guys, from the DC Comics universe is poised to be another successful project from the network. The expectation is, needless to say, unbridled as its parent series are major rating performers.

"Legends of Tomorrow" will follow the adventures of super-powered friends and foes who are forced to work together in the face of an "unstoppable threat" that jeopadizes the world's future. The full description for the show was already revealed:

When heroes alone are not enough... the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"

Followers of "The Flash" and "Arrow" will see familiar faces in "Legends of Tomorrow" hailing from the cities protected by the Scarlet Speedster and the Hooded Archer. Viewers will also see DC Comics superheroes who are set to debut on the small screen. The ragtag pack is led by The Atom (Brandon Routh). The role of "Arrow" star Caity Lotz, who played the late Canary in the series, is still unknown. On the other hand, "The Flash" is represented by the rogues Heatwave (Dominic Purcell) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) as well as the Firestorm duo Ronnie (Robbie Amell) and Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber).

"Legends of Tomorrow" brings Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) to the fore as well as time-travelling hero Rip Hunter (Arthur Davill). Franz Drameh takes on the role of a mystery hero named Jay Jackson.

Behind the scenes are Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggeinheim and Sarah Schechter, who are the same persons that made "The Flash" and "Arrow" possible.

"Legends of Tomorrow" still has no pilot episode. There are rumors that the cast will start filming in August. This also explains the lack of a specific release date but the series is slated for early 2016 and is expected to keep DC Comics fans glued to The CW when the current seasons of "The Flash" and "Arrow" wrap up.
