Freddy Krueger not only invades dreams in reality, but he also does so in video game sessions. The infamous character will be joining the multiplayer horror game "Dead by Daylight."

Developer Behaviour Interactive and publisher Starbreeze Studios have announced Krueger in the new "A Nightmare on Elm Street Chapter" downloadable content (DLC) for the multiplayer game. The DLC was launched on Thursday, Oct. 26 on Steam. The DLC will unlock Krueger as a playable character in the slasher gamer.

Freddy Krueger will have three perks available for the players to utilize. First, there is "Fire Up," where the pressure of losing his preys fills the horror icon with anger and give him more motivation to mutilate his hapless victims. The next perk is called "Remember Me," where Krueger gets an increase the opening time of the Exit Gates each time he does a "Hit your Obsession" action. The third and last perk is called "Blood Warden," where Krueger can summon a Blood Warden near the Exit Gates to block survivors every time he hooks a one.

Along with a new character, the DLC also comes with a new map called Badham Preschool where the usual laughter and joys of children are replaced with parents' cries and children's catatonia. Also, the benches and desks have been replaced with torture devices.

A new Survivor is also available with the DLC and is named Quentin Smith. Smith has a knack for finding medicine with his "Pharmacy" perk and can easily and quickly search chests and containers for one. Smith is also a thoughtful friend and can cause other survivors nearby to recover more quickly from the status effect with the "Vigil" perk. Lastly, the perk "Wake Up" allows Smith to find the Exit Gates much faster, as well as reveal his location to other survivors whenever he is near the escape.

"Dead by Daylight" is available for the PC through Steam and will require up to five players: four will act as the Survivors, and one will get to play the horror icon. The game will also be available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 soon.
