South African online retailer has listed "Dead Island 2" for a release before the holidays. However, recent news regarding the game developer put this in question.

A recent article by Damien Seeto of Attackofthefanboy.com revealed that "Dead Island 2" is listed at a South African retailer and has specified a Nov. 13, 2015 release date. "South African retailer, loot.co.za has just listed "Dead Island" Definitive Edition for  PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms," Seeto wrote. "It has a placeholder release date of November 13th, 2015. This release date seems feasible as it's on a Friday. Most games in South Africa are released on that day," he added.

Upon further inspection of the link, however, it is apparent that the retailer has taken down the listing, which comes as no surprise to many due to the announcement that Deep Silver, the game's publisher, made through the video game's Facebook page.

"Dead Island 2" was announced for a 2015 release during Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2014. However, last April 30, Deep Silver announced that it is delaying the game release until 2016 in order to give players better content. "We know that our fans will be disappointed by this news, but by giving Dead Island 2 more time we are confident that everyone will get a better game to play as a result," said the game publisher.

In a post last July 15, the publisher informed game community that it is no longer associated with YAGER, "Dead Island" game developer, for development of "Dead Island 2." "With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve. After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner YAGER," the post specified.

The publishing company made no other remarks and mentioned no release date for "Dead Island 2." "We will continue working towards bringing our vision of Dead Island 2 to life, and we will share further information at a later stage," the post concluded.
