"Deadpool 2" will have to move forward without director Tim Miller, whom many fans and critics held accountable for much of the success of the first film. Miller has not announced what project he may be moving to, and the studios and actor Ryan Reynolds, who plays the titular character, have yet to explain what caused Miller to exit.

According to The Wrap, unidentified insiders said Miller left due to a dispute he had with Reynolds. During the development of the first film, Miller and his visual effects company took responsibility for the visual style of the film, but Reynolds, who financed much of the movie out of his own pockets, got more control in terms of casting.

The report continues to explain that this division of responsibilities may have been the cause of their dispute as Miller allegedly wants Kyle Chandler to play the role of Cable, a time-travelling mutant hailing from the future. The report further states that Reynolds was not in favor of this decision, and the two could not come to an agreement.

It is further stated that their dispute may have started several months prior, about the same time the first film just launched in theaters. The director and lead actor reportedly have not been speaking with each other over the past few weeks, and it allegedly got worse when the studios sided with Reynolds' decision instead of backing Miller.

Twentieth Century Fox has yet to announce a new director for the film and to reveal whether the rumors of Domino and Cable appearing in the film are true. Collider also reveals the casting shortlist for the role of Domino, although it is still uncertain if the list is accurate given the character has not been confirmed for the movie.

"Deadpool 2" will launch in theaters in 2018.
