"Deadpool" has proven to be a big success despite it being an R-Rated film and a sequel has already been greenlit. One of the first things confirmed is that the character Cable is going to be featured, and now in a report from Cinema Blend, the writers-producers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese discuss how they will present the character.

Comic book fans will recall that Cable has a very complex origin story, being the son of Scott Summers aka Cyclops  (James Marsden/Tye Sheridan) and Madelyne Pryor, the clone of Jean Grey (Famke Janssen/Sophie Turner). He originates from the future but traveled back in time to stop an assasination attempt on Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart/James McAvoy).

According to the duo, this origin story will be streamlined a little bit for the audience. They reiterate that the character's history is a little over-complex and that this story could not be told in the span of a single film. It is also explained that the luxury comic books have in taking their time in telling complex stories does not translate to film audiences.

"I think sometimes you can get away with things in comics that, because you have the long-standing readership, because they're willing to hang in there and see different facets of a situation," Reese explained. "It'll just be, not Cable for Dummies, but Cable in a streamlined, efficient, simpler representation."

Reese also pointed out that the manner they will tackle Cable's story will be similar to how they streamlined Deadpool's (Ryan Reynolds) origin story in the first movie.

Speaking to Collider, the duo also confirmed that the sequel will not require a large budget, instead keeping in line with the $58 million budget of the first film. They point out that unlike other heroes such as the Avengers, Deadpool deals with more grounded situations instead of alien invasions and floating cities crashing down.

"Deadpool 2" currently has no release date attached.
