Kojima recently made an appearance at the Tribeca Games and spoke about the progress of the highly-anticipated project.

The development is going smoothly, according to the game director. During the event, as reported by Engadget, he shared that Kojima Productions is currently testing out different technical and gameplay systems. To explain the current status of the game's production, Kojima likened the project to making a restaurant, saying that if they are making a restaurant, they are already in the part of creating menus and picking out tables.

Other than the general game development, Kojima also spoke about the its cast. He shared why he picked actors for his games instead of using computer-generated imagery. He said, "Bringing in actors, they do some things that I don't imagine." He also explained that actors make games realistic and immersive.

The "Death Stranding" director also spoke about "The Walking Dead" actor Norman Reedus' appearance in the recent trailer. Kojima briefly stated that having Reedus in the trailer is something he really intended. He explained that he wanted people to see the naked Reedus to let them assess how they can use the character in the game. He explained, "You will be able to see him in different costumes, in different hairstyles, different equipment." The game director did not add more, indicating that those were the only pieces of info that he was willing to share about the game so far.

Other than Reedus, "Death Stranding" also stars "Hannibal" actor Mads Mikkelsen and movie director Guillermo del Toro.

No news yet on when "Death Stranding" will come out, but it is definitely in development and is slated to be released for PlayStation 4.
