'Declaring His Love': Muyiwa to embark on UK tour

Having only just released his third project "Declaring His Love", Muyiwa has announced he will be taking his album on an eight-city tour across the UK that will also see the launch of an accompanying live DVD.

The HMV chart-topping CD has already shifted over 2,500 units in just three weeks with continual stock reorders being made by the music retail giant. This figure is set to sky-rocket once Muyiwa & Riversongz hit the road with their live show as part of their official "Declaring His Love UK Tour".

The first appearance kicks off in Sheffield (Fri 30 May) followed by Manchester (Sat 31 May) and wrapping up the weekend at the annual City Sings Gospel Festival in Liverpool (Sun 1 June) which is supported by the Liverpool Lighthouse with the backing of Liverpool City Council and the Capital of Culture, to mark both the 200th anniversary of the abolition of slavery and the 800th birthday of the northern city.

The tour will wind its way down south, taking in Reading, Birmingham, Bristol and Northampton before the tour's final stop in London on Sunday 20 July.

Leading UK charity Christian Aid are confirmed as the official corporate sponsor for the "Declaring His Love UK Tour" and as part of highlighting the charity's ongoing poverty, social and environmental projects, Muyiwa will pay a visit to a northern part of Nigeria where he will be hosted by the Archbishop of Jos, Ben Kwashie whose family and home have undergone various attacks due to intense religious riots in a region which is predominantly muslim.

Despite the potential religious differences, Muyiwa & Riversongz are spreading the message of understanding and peace amongst different cultures and faiths. This was highlighted recently when Muyiwa and his singers were interviewed about the new album "Declaring His Love" by Press TV, Iran's first international news network which broadcasts in English 24 hours a day. The Muslim TV station, whose main headquarters are in Iran's capital Tehran, played various clips from the live Riversongz DVD.

"We were invited on Press TV to talk about Jesus and the music we make. They played the videos and the whole studio was singing! Even though all the women had hijabs that didn't stop them," chuckles Muyiwa.

Muyiwa fans will soon be able to add the official "Declaring His Love" DVD to their collection when it becomes available at all official tour dates starting from Fri 30 May in Sheffield. Followed shortly with the DVD found in stores at HMV, Amazon and key specialist Christian outlets.
