"Deep Rock Galactic," the cooperative gameplay (co-op) shooter game developed by Ghost Ship Games and published by Coffee Stain Publishing, is now available on Steam Early Access and Xbox One Preview for $24.99.

According to its Steam page, "Deep Rock Galactic" is 1–4 player co-op science-fiction (sci-fi) first-person shooter (FPS) game featuring space dwarves. Players take on the role of these dwarves who are employed by an intergalactic mining company. Players will have to ride into a drop pod with a rocket on one end and a huge drilling auger on the other after selecting the missions that will give them the list of objects they have to find in the caves.

Players can choose from four unique classes of space dwarves — Gunner (who mows enemies), Scout (who is tasked to look out ahead and light up the caves), Driller (who chews through solid rock) and Engineer (who supports the team with defensive structures and turrets). Since the game is all about mining, there is no specific path for players to take, rather, they will have to drill their way into the caves where they may potentially stumble upon an alien swarm. To fight these aliens as well as to accomplish their mining jobs, the Dwarves are equipped with weapons and gadgets that include flamethrowers, Gatling guns and portable platform launchers. The game also features a procedurally generated cave network that ensures that players will not repeat a playthrough.

The developers announced that they are working on an update of the following — keybindings, more beards for dwarves, FPS capping and better Drop Pod landings. Moreover, they will add an option for turning off the sending of metric data, update all the languages in the game and introduce a variety of minor bugfixes and tweaks.
