Denver Broncos franchise quarterback Peyton Manning is heading to the right direction toward his recovery from a torn plantar fascia as he started to fully throw again last Wednesday.

Manning has been out of action since suffering the injury in their 29–13 Week 10 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs and has been replaced by backup passer Brock Osweiler, who is 3–0 and will continue to start in his absence.

It was expected that Manning would miss just two weeks of action but the injury prevented him from returning to playing.

But last Wednesday, the veteran quarterback again started throwing and according to Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak did it for 30 minutes, ESPN reported.

Kubiak stated, "[He] did about a half-hour throwing, went through some drill work and stuff. We're going day-to-day with that and see how he comes out of each day."

ESPN added in the report that Manning worked on his throwing with the Broncos' strength and conditioning staff while the team was having a meeting.

As Manning goes day-to-day, Kubiak is hoping to continue the process they are having with their franchise quarterback.

Despite the progress, Manning is unlikely returning soon for Denver as the team will have to stick with the thriving Osweiler.

Manning has not been as impressive this season as he was in the past few years, having 193 completions for 2,180 yards and nine touchdowns, also throwing 17 interceptions in nine games played.

But the 39-year-old quarterback is the Broncos' main passer and is still capable of leading the team to victory.

The 2015 regular season will be closing in four weeks and Denver will likely seal the top spot in the American Football Conference (AFC) West with a 10–2 record.

Since following them are the Kansas City Chiefs (7–5); Oakland Raiders (5–7), whom they will take on this Sunday for Week 14 action; and the San Diego Chargers (3–9).
