The unbeaten Denver Broncos added a veteran via a trade deal last Monday, acquiring tight end Vernon Davis from the San Francisco 49ers and the latter spoke about the new environment where he will now be working.

In a report by ESPN, one of the differences Vernon noticed was the "energy" and "synergy" with the Broncos, which he last felt in 2013 when the 49ers reached the Super Bowl but unfortunately fell short against the Baltimore Ravens.

"Last time I felt that energy was when we were winning those games," Davis said.

Now, San Francisco is bracing for another early exit for the second consecutive season after missing the playoffs in 2014.

Along with the dwindling game of the 49ers, so is Davis' performance which he spoke about with reporters.

"San Francisco, look at the year when I started to drop off, what happened to the team? What happened to the team? They started to fall, there were so many things going on, so much turmoil," Davis said, according to ESPN.

The 31-year-old added, "No one really excelled, no one really had success because the team, we didn't have success. If the team's not having success, chances are I'm not going to have success."

Davis also pointed out the season the 49ers are having, now only managing two wins in eight games played already.

This season, playing six games for the 49ers before getting traded, Davis only had 18 receptions for 194 yards and still no touchdowns scored. Such performance was subpar compared to his 2013 season when he had 52 catches for 850 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Now, the two-time Pro Bowler will be working with one of the most successful quarterbacks in the National Football League (NFL) in Peyton Manning, who he said is every wide receiver's dream.

Davis and the Broncos will try to remain unbeaten this season when they take their next test this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
