As the playoff picture continues to shape while the regular season is winding down, Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler is still set to start this Sunday when they take on the Cincinnati Bengals for Week 16 action. 

The Broncos, who are the leaders of the American Football Conference (AFC) West with a 10–4 record, have played without franchise quarterback Peyton Manning in their past five games. 

Manning has been recovering from a torn plantar fascia and is already working his way to returning to action. 

In his absence, the Broncos went with Osweiler who played well entrusted with the starting job and is 3–2 in five games started. 

Osweiler had a hot streak to begin his stint as the starting quarterback, with Denver going on to defeat the Chicago Bears (Week 11), defending champions New England Patriots (Week 12), and the San Diego Chargers (Week 13). 

But the Broncos lost in Osweiler's last two starts falling to the Oakland Raiders (Week 14) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (Week 15). 

Still with Manning out, Denver will go with the 28-year-old passer as head coach Gary Kubiak said following Wednesday's practice according to ESPN, "We're going with Brock; we'll rally around him."

ESPN also reported that Kubiak added Osweiler will be their starter continuing the season as they try to get Manning healthy, which is top priority. 

In six games played this season including five starts, Osweiler has 129 completions for 1,436 yards and eight touchdowns, also throwing four interceptions. 

Osweiler's numbers are so far career-bests for him, since this is the first season that he was really given ample playing time due to Manning's injury. 

The Broncos' game versus the Bengals is a battle of the best in the AFC West and the AFC North. 

Following that outing, Denver will close the season with a division matchup taking on the struggling San Diego Chargers.
