There was a lot of talk about how the Denver Broncos would do if they had to drop Peyton Manning following his poor form and rumored injury problems for much of the first half of the season.

However, Brock Osweiler has come into the team and has done an excellent job and slotted right into the team to help them continue their charge towards the Playoffs.

The team does not look to be flustered by their long term quarterback position, and with Osweiler leading the Broncos to their their straight win last week, they look in good shape heading towards the postseason.

Osweiler has posted an 88.4 passer rating since taking over, compared to Manning's NFL worst 67.6 rating this season.

There was a lot of pressure on Osweiler coming into the team, and big questions about how he would do. Manning had led the Broncos to two straight defeats before he stepped down due to injury, but since then Osweiler has led Denver to two wins in a row in his two starts.

Last week's win was the most impressive, as Osweiler helped Denver comeback from a 14 point deficit to claim a 30-24 overtime victory over the Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

That result shows that the Broncos can compete with the best in the league with Osweiler at the helm, and that bodes very well for them as the Playoffs draw closer.

Receiver Andre Caldwell said, "I'm not surprised at all. We've got one of the top defenses and he goes against those guys and doesn't flinch. To go out there and do it every Sunday is no surprise to us."

Earlier this week, NFL Thursday Night Football saw the Green Bay Packers take on the Detroit Lions, and although it looked like the Lions had the game in the bag, a spectacular comeback in the second half by the Packers saw them take the spoils to move to 8-4.

Green Bay went in at the half way point without a point on the board and were behind by 17. But whatever they drank at halftime seemed to do the trick, as they came back out and piled on the points winning the third quarter 14-3 to pull the score back to 14-20. They then completed their comeback in the final quarter, scoring another 13 points with the Lions offense shut down and only able to score another three to leave the final score at 27-23.

The game winning play came in dramatic style, with Aaron Rodgers throwing a 61 yard touchdown to Richard Rodgers with no time left on the clock.

The result will be a relief for the Packers, who had lost four of their last five, and will be setback for the Lions, who had won three straight games coming into the game. They will be hugely disappointed to have missed out on the chance to sweep the series for the first time since 1991.

Anytime a team loses a 20 point lead it is a huge blow, but the nature of the loss and the opposition will make the defeat that much worse for Detroit.

The Packers left it late to make their charge, only scoring their first points with just 5.44 on the clock in the third quarter. But once they got into their rhythm there was no stopping them.

On the final play, the only reason the Packers had their final chance was because Devin Taylor grabbed Aaron Rodgers facemark. If he had not done that then the game would have been over, but because of that foul, Green Bay were given another chance, and Aaron Rodgers didn't need to be told twice. He launched a massive 61 yard Hail Mary pass, which came off to leave the Detroit fans stunned and the Packers fans in ecstasy.

Rodgers admitted after the game: "I've never had a completed Hail Mary before."

Rodgers finished the game with 26 of 36 for 289 yards and two touchdowns, compared to Matthew Stafford's 23 of 35 for 220 yards and two touchdowns.
