In the next episode of "Designated Survivor," President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) negotiates the release of a stranded U.S. Navy ship in hostile waters.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Two Ships" was released just recently and showed Kirkman telling his staff what to do about the latest international incident. "We got 300 Americans stranded in hostile waters. We need to bring them home," he says firmly to Aaron Shore (Adan Canto), Emily Rhodes (Italia Ricci), and the rest of his presidential staff. He tells the captain of the U.S. Navy ship to stay strong and that they will be rescued very soon. However, it will not be without any resistance as the enemies want to take control of the ship because of the classified information on board.

The U.S. ship crossed into enemy waters, which gave the adversaries the right to capture the vessel for violating international law. The president will have his hands full trying to contain the precarious situation. He has to negotiate with the enemy to release the U.S. ship from their territorial waters. However, if all else fails, it seems that Kirkman will resort to force to take out the opposition. "Stay engaged. Sink every ship they've got," he tells his Navy commanders.

In the last episode, Kirkman got caught in a scandal when Senator Alan Rouse (Christopher Cousins) leaked to the press that the president called the American people "suckers." However, the senator's interpretation was out of context which prompted the president to retaliate against him. In a dramatic turn, the commander-in-chief decided to be civil and not blackmail the senator in the end. Instead, Kirkman gave the American people a heartfelt explanation which endeared him to them even more.

"Designated Survivor" season 2 episode 6 will air on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
