In the next episode of "Designated Survivor," President Tom Kirkman's (Kiefer Sutherland) most trusted adviser becomes a person of interest in a murder investigation.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Family Ties" was released just recently and showed Aaron Shore (Adan Canto) telling the president the bad news. "The secretary emerged as a person of interest in the murder of Charlotte Thorn," he told Kirkman in a private meeting. His longtime friend and confidant apparently was tagged in a facial search which connects him to the shooting of British Member of Parliament Charlotte Thorn (Larissa Gomes) on U.S. soil. She was supposed to attend the G-20 conference but was killed in the park where she went for a jog. Her killer is still not yet known. It remains to be seen whether Kirkman will use his power to pull some strings in favor of his suspected friend or if he will let justice take its course.

Meanwhile, his wife Alex (Natascha McElhone) is being framed for a crime that has yet to be revealed. "I'm being setup. We are all being setup," Alex tells her husband worriedly as he embraces her with love and concern. To make matters worse, his son Leo (Tanner Buchanan) is attacked which pushes Kirkman to the limit. "I am tired of you people always telling me that my hands are tied," he snaps at his staff.

In the last episode, the president dealt with a U.S. Navy ship that was caught in enemy waters where the authorities did not want it to leave. Apparently, the enemy wanted to acquire the ship and get its classified information. However, the captain decided to have the crew abandon the ship and let it get destroyed instead.

"Designated Survivor" season 2 episode 7 will air on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 11 p.m. EST on ABC.
