'Destiny' 2.2.0 update details revealed

Bungie is gearing up for the update for "Destiny" this spring, according to the game studio's latest post.

Based on a report from community manager DeeJ posted on the Bungie website, the "Destiny" update 2.2.0 will come out on April 12 with a lot of content needed by all types of Guardians.

While the post did not reveal all the details regarding the content of "Destiny" update 2.2.0, it was revealed that it will come out with several new PvE challenges, a number of new and updated gears, a brand-new quest that will have Blighted Chalice Strike, several Sandbox and Crucible updates, and an increased Max Light and a number of rewards.

The upcoming update is believed to be bigger than the game's previous live events such as Festival of the Lost, Sparrow Racing League, and Crimson Days..

Bungie also scheduled streams every Wednesday until the update comes out next month. Each stream will tackle a new detail about the upcoming update. The schedule of the streams is as follows:

Wednesday, March 23rd – 11 a.m. Pacific

  • April Update Preview: New Things to Earn

Wednesday, March 30th – 11 a.m. Pacific

  • April Update Preview: Sandbox and Crucible Updates

Destiny players can join the live conversation during each streaming, which will be available on Twitch.

The "Destiny" update 2.2.0 follows the Hot Fix 2.1.1.3, which was released on March 8. According to the game studio, the current update came with several fixes for the game, as well as "a vehicle that will deliver the newest matchmaking settings to every playlist in the Crucible."

Players who own "Destiny: The Taken King" will receive the update for free, but there are no details yet about how those who have yet to purchase the expansion could acquire the new update.
