"Destiny 2" is sitting out Halloween this year. Bungie community manager David "Deej" Dague confirmed on Twitter that "Festival of the Lost" will not be the game's first seasonal event.

"No, Sir," Dague responded to a fan who directly asked if the in-game event is happening in "Destiny 2" this year. "We may see it again someday but Season 1 has been about launch and ritual activation. The first event for Destiny 2 is The Dawning."

"Festival of the Lost" was the Halloween event on "Destiny 1." As part of the celebration, the game's social space, The Tower, got a makeover while Bungie gave away goodies in the form of collectible masks and other customization items for a limited time. In addition, bags of candy were given by playing just about any activity in the game.

Dague did not reveal the reason behind the decision. But, Comic Book predicts Bungie may have focused its resources on making sure there is a smooth PC launch for "Destiny 2" this year rather than limited holiday events. Besides, "Festival of the Lost" did not arrive in the game until a year after "Destiny 1" became available.

The first seasonal event in "Destiny 2" will instead be the wintery Dawning, which Bungie has just finished detailing. GameSpot says that both hockey and throwable snowballs are coming to the game.

The hockey mini-game will be played like the soccer mini-game that launched with "Destiny 2." It is one of the activities players could partake in once they unlock access to the social hub known as The Farm.

There will be some brand new cosmetic items and winter-themed armor as well, the latter of which gives players access to three cool new outfits for the different character classes in the game.

All these will be available only for a limited time, but the start date of the event has not been announced yet. In the meantime, players can now play "Destiny 2" on PC which just launched on Tuesday, Oct. 24 following its PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release in September.
