Bungie had already confirmed that it was, in fact, going to be making the highly-anticipated sequel to its online first person shooter video game, "Destiny."

While fans still have to wait until next year to get their hands on the game, some new reports have indicated that its development is in the works and that "Destiny 2" may already be in its test build stage.

Several reports have now pointed out a recently leaked screenshot of an alleged Bungie employee who posted his progress while playing the Private Test Build for "Destiny 2." The test itself was being conducted on Xbox Live and showed a yet to be revealed story mode called "Deimos."

There is, of course, very little that is known about the upcoming game, but if the leak is any indication, then the development of the game is likely progressing very well.

There has also been no confirmation yet from the developers themselves, which makes it all the more possible that the picture could be a fake. However, several reports have mentioned that this would be unlikely as the image does look authentic. It is also interesting to note that Bungie has labeled the game "Destiny II" instead of "Destiny 2."

The original image was posted by a Reddit user named "ATypicalFruit," who was apparently connected to a Bungie developer named "Evil Otto." The Reddit user spotted the activity as the developer was part of his friends' list at the time.

Bungie had originally confirmed that the sequel was in development back in 2014. The company later announced earlier this year that the sequel — "Destiny 2" — was going to be coming out sometime in 2017.

The sequel will no longer be supporting older consoles, namely the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. A PC version has also not yet been announced, but reports are adamant that Bungie would release a PC version shortly after the console versions of "Destiny 2" are rolled out.
