PC gamers are getting a special treat from "Destiny 2" when it officially arrives in the fall.

It seems that the PC will be the best platform to play Bungie's anticipated sequel to "Destiny." During Activision Blizzard's first-quarter earnings call, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Eric Hirshberg promised "meaningful features" that will be exclusive to the game's PC players.

"We're committed to delivering meaningful features that are bespoke for the PC community," he said. The CEO did not disclose much beyond that, since further details will be announced during the game's big reveal on May 18. ". . . We'll have some additional, obviously, exciting announcements on the game overall at that time as well," Hirshberg continued.

Aside from launching new gameplay footage, developer Bungie will use the event to unveil more information about the upcoming "Destiny 2" beta and when it will be opened to players. Fans should also expect to hear more about the game's setting and storyline in the event. As previously announced, key features from the sequel include competitive player-versus-player (PvP) gameplay with new modes and maps, along with three gameplay activities for all kinds of players: new, returning, casual, and competitive.

Express points out the invitations may be the game's first major clue, as the developer will welcome attendees to a world of total darkness. It could be a clue about how the story will play out, suggesting that the original game's Light will no longer be the only way for players to power up and gain strength.

In terms of sales, Activision Blizzard reported the first quarter as a strong period for the company. Pre-orders for "Destiny 2" have been pouring in and the game itself has been described as "off to a very strong start." Most of the orders have been for editions that include the complete season pass.

"Destiny 2" will be launched on Sept. 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. The first worldwide reveal trailer for the game has also been released.
