"Destiny 2" is a sci-fi, online multiplayer fist-person shooter that is set to launch on PC on Oct. 24. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were released earlier in September.

Developed by Bungie and published by Activision, the game will feature three different modes — campaign, cooperative multiplayer, and competitive multiplayer.

Campaign mode focuses on a battle against the legion and a quest to reclaim earth. It also comes with a multitude of side quests that reward the player with loot and experience points. Alongside those rewards, the quests delve deeper into the lore of "Destiny 2" and give players a better glimpse of the history and impact of in-game events. In campaign mode, players will also be able to connect with other guardians and visit faction vendors.

Cooperative multiplayer comes with two different sub modes: strikes and raids.

In strike mode, players will team up with friends or other guardians in groups of three to take down enemies. Meanwhile, in raid mode, players will team up with friends in groups of six to take down challenges, prove their teamwork, and win an assortment of prizes ranging from gear for their guardians to weapons and achievements.

Players will also be able to join clans and earn rewards for completing missions with their clan members.

The third game mode, competitive multiplayer, also features two different sub modes, crucible and countdown.

Crucible is a player vs. player (PVP) mode that pits guardians against each other in teams of four, while countdown is similar to crucible mode but with added explosives and teams switching sides after every round. The goal will be to earn six points, and the team that does so first will win the countdown round.

"Destiny 2" will feature three guardian classes. First are the Hunters; agile and deadline, they are capable of doing more damage per second. Next are the Titans, the front liners who are the equivalent of warriors and paladins in fantasy role-playing games. Last but not the least are the Warlocks, the scholar-type characters who combine modern day weapons with magic.

The varied game modes and classes ensure that the game can be enjoyed in multiple ways.
