If a new leak out of Reddit is anything to go by, "Destiny 2" will take place in one of the satellites or moons of the planet Mars — Deimos.

This comes from a screenshot (now deleted from Reddit) showing a Bungie employee's activity as "Destiny II: Private Test Build." This had a lot of people thinking that the setting for "Destiny 2" has been inadvertently revealed.

This leak spawned speculations that the sequel will be inspired by the Greek god of terror, which is associated with Deimos, thus making the Cabal the central force in the game.

However, many Reddit users started to dismiss the "Destiny 2" leak as an elaborate sham by someone who used a photo manipulation software.

One said that Bungie would know better when it comes to testing unreleased games than deliberately calling it a "test build." That being said, if the developers were indeed trying out "Destiny 2", they would not name it as such so that in the event of a leak such as this, it would not give itself away.

In addition, seeing that Bungie went to the trouble of including the name of the location in the supposed test build instead of using a codename to avoid attention from gamers suggest that this purported leak is fake.

David Candland, who is known online as Evil Otto, the developer who appears to have leaked the "Destiny 2" location, also took to Twitter to throw light on the leak before more people catch on.

"What the... sigh. It's fake. Turning notifications off my phone and going back to sleep," he tweeted out. Some took his word for it while others are convinced that he is covering it up.

Whether or not "Destiny 2" will be set in Deimos is a mystery for now. With the credibility of the leak in question, readers are advised to take it with a pinch of salt.

"Destiny 2" is said to be a complete departure from the original and that it will be released for the first time for the PC.
