Bungie fans will soon be able to get their hands on the "House of Wolves" DLC for "Destiny," the company's biggest game since the "Halo" franchise. The upcoming downloadable content promises to give players a lot more options and features than the previous DLC did. However, with all the attention on "House of Wolves," there seems to be little to no information regarding the development of "Destiny 2."

Rumors and suppositions that Bungie is developing the second game in the franchise has gotten fans excited, hoping for an early release. Game publisher Activision did say early this year that there is new content coming in fall this year, but it was not specified if this new major content is officially "Destiny 2," a spin-off title set in the same universe, or another DLC that has not yet been announced.

This comes from a transcript of Activision's Q4 2014 earnings call, where it states, "In Q2, we expect to launch the game's second expansion pack, House of Wolves, and later this year, we will announce a major content release for the fall, so stay tuned."

According to a report by GamesRadar, Bungie wants players to continue playing "Destiny" for as long as possible. In order to keep the game fresh and competitive, the company might release at least one more DLC before they allow players to move on to a second game.

Bungie's Head of User Research John Hopson helped design "Destiny" so that players would continue playing as long as possible. Currently, the average "Destiny" player has reportedly logged over 77 hours of gameplay already.

A report from Kotaku also explains all the new gameplay changes and new features that are set to keep players glued to "Destiny" for a very long time. It may be a full one to two years before the need for "Destiny 2" rises, especially if Bungie and Activision continue to pump out new DLC content.

As noted by VCPost, there are speculations about the second game coming out before the end of 2016, although the game developer and publisher have not made any official announcement regarding "Destiny 2."

In the meantime, gamers can look forward to "Destiny Expansion II: House of Wolves" set to be released on May 19.
