"Destiny 2" will be one of the first titles to be playable on the Nintendo NX, a new leak claims. Release date details about the game have also emerged.

Reliable tipster Geno claims that the "Destiny" sequel will be called "Beyond Destiny" and that it will be released for Nintendo's new console in 2017.

The tipster, who has an impressive track record of game-related predictions, also claims that "Destiny" publisher Activision's interest in bringing "Destiny 2" on the console comes from its desire to take advantage of the local and online multiplayer support of the console.

Activision also believes that this will also be a lucrative move knowing that Nintendo NX will bring in new patrons of "Destiny," which means that more gamers will play and follow the franchise.

The publisher is allegedly in the middle of negotiations with Nintendo at the moment. But if everything falls into place, Activision will reportedly come out with a "complete" version of "Destiny 2" by early next year.

As for the gameplay for the sequel, rumor has it that the installment will center on Osiris, a lost warlock yet to be seen in the franchise.

Notably though, he was referenced in Trials of Osiris, the multiplayer tournament developer Bungie launched for "Destiny." The powerful sorcerer himself, however, was not shown.

In addition, fans are looking forward to the story that "Destiny 2" will function in. They are confident that the addition of Christopher Schlerf, the former lead writer for Bioware's upcoming shooter "Mass Effect: Andromeda," will do a good job in stitching a stellar yarn for the game.

Games Radar believes that Bungie has to step up its game when it comes to storytelling, and with Schlerf on board the project, the expectations of "Destiny 2" presenting a good story shoot up.

While fans look forward to "Destiny 2," Bungie is working hard to polish the original installment. A massive update for the shooter is scheduled to drop on April 12.

With this update, players will get a new quest involving the mysterious Blighted Chalice, upgraded gears and weapons, Crucible updates and a higher maximum Light level.
