Fans longing for a "Destiny's" sequel will have to wait for a while as it is speculated that it is still in the production process and will have a 2017 release date. For the meantime, gamers can look forward to a DLC announcement on June 9, and the content is rumored to be titled "Rise of Iron."

Developer Bungie announced a Twitch event set to happen on Thursday, June 9 at 10 a.m. PST on their blog. It says, "This week at Bungie we're preparing to reveal your next adventure. You're invited to learn all about the next threat that you'll confront as Guardians."

It added, "Save the date. Follow our channel. This will be your first glimpse at what awaits you later on this year, followed by a deeper dive with the development team."

"Destiny" fans are speculating that the announcement is about the "Rise of Iron" DLC, whose artwork was leaked less than a month ago. It is expected to be as big as "The Taken King" expansion, or may be even bigger. If this proves to be true, this will be the third major expansion for the game. The community is looking forward to a release this fall.

In connection to this, iDigital Times reported that a new trademark filing with reference number 87054985 was also uncovered at the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the "Rise of Iron" phrase. Bungie filed it last May 31, and it can be used for a variety of mediums that include video games, interactive software games, TV programs, movies, posters, costumes and many more.

However, there is still no solid info on the next expansion's contents except what was seen in the leaked artwork. It showed Lord Saladin, the one in control of the Iron Banner's multiplayer events, standing in the middle holding a flaming axe, surrounded by three massive wolves.

Fans are expecting to hear about "Destiny 2" at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo in the middle of the month.
