Good news for those who are hardcore fans of "Destiny," the futuristic space-age first-person shooter from developer Bungie, as it seems that they can go on enjoying the game for as long as they want to. The company already has a plan, spanning for at least a decade, laid-out for the title.  

One of the confirmed plans that Bungie has set is that players need not worry about having to create new characters. Most often, games that have been running for a long time tend to release a big update for future expansions. However, for some multiplayer online titles, a major update also cycles and refreshes their servers, most often deleting game data such as character profiles. In addition, long-running online multiplayer titles are also susceptible to crashes and downtimes, which, if not wiping out data completely, corrupts and partially destroys game files which also affect players. 

Bungie has assured its millions of players that character deletion and setting up another one from scratch will not be happening to "Destiny." Speaking to game website Games Radar, Luke Timmins, Engineering Lead for the title, said that Bungie is considering "Destiny" as a long-term engagement.

Timmins said, "We certainly take it seriously that Destiny is a ten-year thing. It's a long-term thing and with these adventures that we're adding my contract to you - and any player - is that your Guardian will always be there. We're going to keep adding new stuff for you to do and I'd hope you'll look at The Taken King and be like, 'I'm looking forward to logging on again and hooking friends online'." 

"The Taken King" is the third expansion that Bungie will roll out for "Destiny," scheduled to be released this coming September. First revealed at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, "The Taken King" will add new content for the title and is also set to introduce big performance updates.
