Bungie has clarified that it isn't them who have been sharing cryptic messages about new "Destiny" DLC. Fans have been receiving mysterious notes from an account named Absense Vigil that seem to point to new content for the game.

Before the buzz could get any more uncontrollable, Bungie community manager Cozmo clarified (in the comment section) that they have nothing to do with this scheme. "Not us. Looks like someone trying to do something fun for the community," he wrote.

Absense Vigil has been sending users enigmatic messages hinting the arrival of new weapon or an event is in the pipeline. Bungie is also known for doing the same when it comes to "Destiny" DLC so many players believed that the account is part of the developer's scheme.

While Absense Vigil's claims are confirmed as nothing but an elaborate hoax, there's another leak going around on Reddit about the next DLC coming to "Destiny." This time, it comes from a user named Rezyl Azzir (now taken down), who posted a photo, showing a dead ghost at the treasure room entrance.

The user posted the photo just 17 minutes before the April update goes live. How the user downloaded the "Destiny" update, circled Prison of Elders and found the dead ghost in less than 20 minutes puzzles many.

The post also included a Latin phrase, which, when translated, reads "The twentieth day of the ninth month. It is about to come." Media outlets take it to mean that a "Destiny" DLC will arrive on Sept. 20, which is a Tuesday.

If it is to be believed, a new "Destiny" DLC should arrive in a few months. Of course, players are advised to take this with a pinch of salt, especially with Bungie still silent about the matter.

While there's reason to believe a DLC will be released to "Destiny" in the future, no official information about it is on hand yet. Whether or not, Sept. 20 will be a special day for fans, only time will tell.
