'Destiny Expansion II: House of Wolves' DLC to remove commendation feature, bring new changes and more

As part of the "House of Wolves" DLC pack's integration, developer Bungie will be doing away with the commendations feature in "Destiny."

In the game's current version, with "The Dark Below" DLC, players earn commendations in the course of getting their levels higher and ranking up their reputation levels with the different factions scattered in the game. When their numbers are high, players can then exchange their commendations with game gears. However, some players, especially Guardians who have completed hunting down bounties, have numerous commendations saved. With their chosen gear already complete, they have no use for the stockpiled commendations.

Bungie saw that this system is rather ineffective, and because of that, the commendation system will be phased out once the "House of Wolves" expansion launches. However, the developer assures the players that since the upcoming DLC pack would be released in May, they still have time to trade their unused commendations. Guardians can trade them for reputation instead, which makes the points more usable as the reputation is needed for players to progress to their next promotions and earn rewards.

In other related news, Bungie also announced that prior to the upcoming DLC, the game's next Iron Banner event would take place on April 28. Starting at 10 a.m. Pacific, the event will introduce the use of helmets, a first in the game. After the event, the developer will also allow players to take a sneak peek at the upcoming Trial of Osiris, the new PvP mode for the next DLC pack. The teaser will be shown via livestream on April 29 at 11 a.m. Pacific.

"Destiny Expansion II: House of Wolves" is scheduled to arrive on May 19. The new pack will bring new features and changes to the game.
