Bungie has rolled out a new feature to celebrate Year Two of its sci-fi futuristic shooter, "Destiny." With the Refer-a-Friend program going live, Guardians will now have the chance to earn rewards and add exclusive items in their inventory by inviting friends to play the game.

Bungie released the official trailer for the new feature, detailing what exclusive items await Guardians. However, the program has its own set of requirements before activation.

Guardians should refer a friend and linking the newcomer as a buddy Guardian through The Taken King expansion of "Destiny." In addition, the two linked Guardians must also play on the same platform, either an Xbox One or a PS4 (the PS3 and Xbox 360 do not support the feature).

Meanwhile, the FAQs for the Refer-a-Friend program also states that referrals can only be sent by players who have played "Destiny: The Taken King" for more than a week and already updated their game to the latest version of the title, Update 2.0.2.

Linking with a buddy will unlock a new quest titled The Hunt for Loot. GameSpot listed all the exclusive items that would be available for Guardians as rewards in the program as they appear in the trailer. Apparently, Guardians who have unlocked and finished the missions together with a linked buddy can get an Infinite Link shader, a Sign of the Infinite emblem, three Legendary swords that form the Elemental Kindblades, two emotes (Duo Dance and High Five) and an EV-34 Vector Infinite sparrow.

The Refer-a-Friend program is one of a number of new features that Bungie introduced in Year Two of "Destiny." Aside from the new program, the developer also plans to roll out a new major update next month, introducing system and game improvements such as weapons rebalance and tweaks. The update will also add new Exotic items.
