"Destiny" will not be introducing any new microtransactions, or at least not right now.

Recently, a source spoken to by VG 247 hinted that there would be new microtransactions introduced to the game in the form of ammo packs.

The rumor regarding the addition of ammo pack microtransactions had reportedly been around for a while.

Unsurprisingly, plenty of "Destiny" players were unhappy with the supposedly new addition, mainly because the introduction of ammo packs that could be purchased with silver could have had a significant impact on the game.

As it turns out, all the outrage was for naught, as Activision has already plainly stated that the rumor regarding the new microtransaction is not true.

In speaking to Game Informer, Activision indicated that they were not planning to introduce the aforementioned microtransaction.

Still, it would have been tough to blame "Destiny" players who bought into the rumor, considering the number of microtransactions that have been added to the game since last year.

For now though, at least this one has been proven to be false.

In related news, "Destiny" is still in line to receive some new content soon, and it will be coming in the form of a new event known as "Crimson Days."

"Crimson Days" will be "Destiny's" Valentine's Day event, and as could be expected, the in-game world is being decked out in red for the occasion.

Aside from aesthetic changes, "Crimson Days" will also be introducing a new kind of Crucible mode known as Crimson Doubles.

In Crimson Doubles, players will be asked to pair up with a partner as they attempt to acquire rewards and overcome their enemies.

According to Forbes, there's also a chance that Bungie will add new Valentine's Day-themed emotes to the game as part of the "Crimson Days" event, although this has not been confirmed.
