The start of 2016 has so far been uneventful for "Destiny," but things are expected to change soon, and it may all be building up to major additions arriving later on in the year.

Bungie has thus far held off on releasing anything significant in 2016, although the developer has hinted that there will be something big coming soon.

Several items located in the "Destiny" database have been connected to an event known as "The Dawning," and some recently issued emblems have also been linked to it.

Some players have predicted that "The Dawning" will be making use of Mercury as its main setting, although Bungie has thus far been reluctant to say anything official.

According to the Express UK, it's also been confirmed that there will be three major "Destiny" events taking place in the spring of this year and that may be doing in part to clear up the rest of the year for something really big.

Exactly what that rumored to be major update actually is remains a mystery for now, although the upcoming events could provide clues as to what it will ultimately be.

The major "Destiny" update is also expected to arrive sometime in September, although without any official word from Bungie, players have no other choice than to simply see how the year progresses.

In related news, some "Destiny" players have expressed their frustration over the way that the game is treating its older content.

According to Gaming Bolt, some "Destiny" players on Reddit have brought up the topic of how the game manages its older content, and not a lot of them are all too pleased with what's happening.

Some players have complained that Bungie is neglecting older content inside "Destiny" in lieu of their new additions despite the notion that the game itself could still handle more items.

Instead of Bungie phasing out older items whenever new ones arrive, players would prefer that the developer simply leave the items be.

More news about "Destiny" should be made available in the coming weeks.
