Destiny servers down on Thursday for scheduled maintenance
"Destiny" players should avoid making big gaming plans this Thursday, since Bungie announced a planned maintenance for all the game's servers.
The game developer made the announcement on its official blog site, saying that "Destiny" will be offline for a few hours on Nov. 13.
"This totally planned service outage will enable us to prepare for the arrival of a series of updates planned for the next few weeks," Bungie's community manager David Dague wrote.
The scheduled maintenance will start at 8 a.m. Pacific time and will last until 12 noon if the process runs smoothly. The players might have to wait a few hours more before they can begin to play again.
According to Dague, since the updates that they will do during the maintenance period will be on their side, players' gaming experience will remain the same and gamers won't be required to make any downloads or installations once the game goes back online.
"This work will help us pave the way for the progress that was foretold in the last Weekly Update," he explained.
Earlier, Bungie reported that there will be several changes that will be seen in the action-packed, first-person shooter game, including:
- Brand-new shaders for the gear.
- New ways to see the items first before spending the collected Glimmer.
- More chances of getting "showers" in public areas.
- Several improvements in some arenas that required better traffic flow.
- Introduction of new economies so that players can upgrade their materials.
- Technical upgrades.
- Several surprising additions and game improvements.
Bungie is also scheduled to release the much awaited "Destiny" DLC pack dubbed as "The Dark Below" on Dec. 9. The said expansion pack contains new story missions, three Crucible maps, a raid, as well as a co-op Strike. A new rewards system will also be introduced.
