'Destiny: The Taken King' DLC news: new, exotic location to be added

Similar to the second expansion for "Destiny" called "House of Wolves,"  the upcoming third DLC for the space-age shooter will also include a new, exotic location.

According to the weekly update of developer Bungie, "The Taken King" DLC will introduce players to a new part of the "Destiny" world when it is launched in September. Guardians will have a chance to explore and experience the Dreadnaught, the flagship of the Taken. The Taken is a new class of opponents that Guardians will have to fight against in the upcoming third expansion.

The Dreadnaught battleship may seem familiar to some players as it is a stolen Hive tombship. However, certain aspects of the Hive build were deliberately infused with Taken architecture. As stated by Bungie's senior artist Andre Hopps, the Dreadnaught is a combination of a Hive masterpiece and the unknown mystery of the Taken.

Hopps also added that although the battleship itself is a vast space, Guardians would surely find exploring all the nooks and crannies of the ship satisfying, since one of the probable rewards is an audience with the Taken King himself.

Hopps said, "A sense of wonder about the unknown is what drove a lot of the spatial design. It was an incredibly fun challenge to find the right balance between a mysterious tomb ship and the flagship for the Taken fleet — to capture the idea of this unfathomable threat, a monstrous spaceship captained by the Taken King, yet filled with vast caverns and unknown passages. I can't wait for players to explore and discover all of its secrets."

Meanwhile, aside from the battleship Dreadnaught, it is also expected that other items and new features will be included in "The Taken King" DLC. Bungie has already showcased some of the new weapons that will be introduced in the third expansion, and fans are undoubtedly waiting for the new gear and armor that each class will be equipped with to complement the expanded Guardian arsenal.
