The upcoming "Destiny" expansion pack is going to be the biggest one yet. The new "The Taken King" DLC is so huge that game company Bungie, who is very excited to release it, prefers to call it a separate game rather than an expansion pack. In a recent blog post, the developer detailed what the monstrous add-on will bring.

There will be all new missions and sidequests with fresh new narratives to engage in and Bungie is equipping players with a new range of weapons to cater to the action. Below is part of the complete list as per Bungie on what to expect in the "Taken King" DLC for "Destiny."

  • New story missions and an array of sidequests that conspire to tell the story of our battle to defend our Solar System against Oryx and his Taken army
  • The Dreadnaught, a full new destination, with unique secrets, rituals, and treasures to uncover
  • An increased Level Cap, and new ways for your Guardian to grow more powerful
  • Redesigned and reimagined Strikes - Dust Palace, Undying Mind, and Cerberus Vae III - are now overrun by the Taken
  • New Crucible multiplayer maps with new Crucible modes, including the previously revealed Rift and Mayhem
  • And, of course, last but not least, our biggest six-player Raid yet.

There are new combatants called The Taken, plus new exotic weapons, armor and quests, as well as new subclasses with special abilities.

"The Taken King" DLC will be released on Sept. 15, but in the coming weeks, Bungie will also release tweaks and updates for "Destiny" in recognition of the players' feedback on the game, such as what they want to see, removed or fixed.

In turn, as the wait for "The Taken King" progresses, gamers will see weapon rebalancing as well as bounty and economy improvements. Bungie is adding faction allegiances as well as end game content in order to give gamers the definitive quest experience.
