After a lot of speculations, Bungie finally confirmed the new expansion pack for their best-selling game "Destiny." Called "The Taken King," the DLC was officially unveiled during Sony's press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 in California. 

Multiple sites posted leaks regarding the next DLC early this month, saying that "The Taken King" will come out in September. The game developer confirmed the leaks during their E3 presentation Tuesday, and revealed other details about the upcoming expansion pack. 

Bungie showed an eight-minute video trailer to show the features of "Destiny: The Taken King," including its main plot and gameplay contents. Here, the Guardians begin their adventure by sorting through a Cabal base located on Mars' Phobos moon. They discover that the Cabal beings are escaping the wrath of the Hive King and Crota's father Oryx and his possessed combatants called the Taken army. 

Players have to defeat the Taken, who become more vicious because of Oryx's influence on their behavior and attack patterns. This means that in this expansion pack, the Guardians will be the once hunted by Oryx and the Taken army instead of doing the hunting themselves. 

The trailer also revealed the new options that can be used for tracking bounties, as well as the additional missions that can be conquered using the d-pad. Bungie also revealed three new subclasses during the press conference, namely the Nightstalker Hunter, the Sunbreaker Titan, and the Stormcaller Warlock. 

According to a report by IGN, development lead Justin Truman mentioned that the expansion pack will now allow players to skip the game's cut scenes if they want to. 

"Destiny: The Taken King" will come out on Sept. 15, and can be purchased for $39.99. Players can also opt to get a digital or disk copy of Destiny's Collector's Edition for $79.99, which contains the main game as well as the first two DLCs titled "The Dark Below" and "House of Wolves." 

Meanwhile "Destiny" players using PlayStation 4 can get exclusive access to a strike mission and additional gears.
