Developer Bungie is all set to roll out the third expansion to its space-age futuristic shooter, "Destiny." When "The Taken King" DLC is released next month, it will bring new and updated content for Guardians. In addition, the developer also said that the expansion is so massive that players will begin to feel like it's a whole new game entirely.

Building up the hype for its upcoming expansion, Bungie rouses the excitement of fans with bits and pieces of "The Taken King." This time, the developer gives fans a sneak peek at one of the expansion's add-ons, a new Raid dubbed as King's Fall.

In an interview with industry observer Game Informer, "The Taken King" creative director Luke Smith said that he hopes the new Raid will come as a complete surprise to "Destiny" players, as it will be very different from the previous Raid that Smith designed, the Vault of Glass. He also dropped hints about the upcoming Raid, saying that it will not be the same as previous strike missions.

"The way we developed King's Fall was different to the other raids," he said.

Smith also hinted that players will have more options for the Raid, saying, "We developed Hard mode first this time, then scaled to Normal. And we have one more thing we're not talking about yet that's pretty special. It's a twist I'm excited about."

Aside from introducing a new Raid, Bungie is also updating its Nightfall challenge for Guardians. Popular with gamers who want to level up quickly and score some rare items, the weekly Nightfall strike is an endgame activity for players with rewards like massive XP and reputation boosts.

"The Taken King" will be launched for "Destiny" players on Sept. 15 on all available game platforms, and will overhaul the game itself. The 10- to 20-GB update is also expected to introduce new weapons, gears, and class-specific items across all Guardian levels.
