"Destiny" fans are now gearing up for the impending release of the massive expansion for "Destiny" known as "The Taken King," but what can players actually expect in terms of substantial changes?

First off, there will be a new raid available in "The Taken King."

The new raid, which will be known as the King's Fall, is being billed as the biggest one yet made available for the game. King's Fall will feature a new enemy named Oryx, who happens to be the father of Crota, a boss enemy included in a different raid. Oryx will be leading his own band of formidable minions known as the Taken that players will have to deal with in the game.

Unfortunately, King's Raid will not be immediately available upon the release of "The Taken King," but it is expected to come out a few days later on Sept. 18, according to IGN.

Upon its arrival, "The Taken King" will also be raising the level cap inside the game all the way up to 40, according to Bungie, although the cap is already going up this week as well.

Even though "The Taken King" is not due out until next week, Bungie has already released update 2.0, which has introduced some of the other significant changes coming to "Destiny," including the one related to the level cap.

Previously, once players hit level 20, they could only go up from light levels; now, gamers can climb all the way up to 34 even just through acquiring experience.

The bounty slots have also gone up to 16 in "Destiny."

Other noticeable changes that have been made through update 2.0 for the game include Nolan North formally taking over the voice duties for "Destiny's" ghost. He will be taking over for Peter Dinklage. Players now also have the option to skip cutscenes, according to Forbes.

"The Taken King" will be released on Sept. 15.
