'Destiny' news: Game updated with micro patch - details

Destiny website

Bungie has introduced a micro patch for its space-age shooter "Destiny".

According to the hot fix notes on Bungie's official site, the small update centers on different system improvements and gameplay fixes. Most noted on the new update are the changes made to the Husk of the Pit weapon.

Due to its inaccuracy rate, the weapon itself is not a fan favorite, even during the early days of the game. However, players still go through with acquiring the Husk of the Pit autorifle, since getting the weapons opens a quest mission where Guardians will be given a chance to upgrade it to its highest grade possible, and transform the weapon into a more powerful Exotic gear.

Players can get the Husk of the Pit as a dropped item from special Hive units called Blades of Crota, which only randomly appear in certain locations in the game. To increase the chances for players to acquire the item, the hot fix update increases the weapon's drop rate by 150 percent and also fixes a glitch where, in some cases, players were not able to receive the weapon after defeating the enemies.

Aside from the weapon changes, Bungie also made some changes to the PvP mode for the "House of Wolves" to exploit the gameplay to its utmost before the third expansion, "The Taken King," rolls out on Sept. 15.

A most surprising twist also came with the hot fix. Starting with the update, Tess Everis will not be seen in the Tower. Everiss is a Tower vendor that also stores items that can be activated via the website.

The notes list the absence only as a temporary fix, and it is expected that the Tower vendor will be back before or when the third expansion is released. Meanwhile, a Kiosk terminal near Eva Levante in the North Tower has been put up containing Everiss' inventory.
