'Detective Pikachu' video game and Amiibo coming out this March

"Detective Pikachu" spin-off video game coming on Mar. 23 in the U.S. YouTube/ The Official Pokémon YouTube Channel

Pikachu will leave Pokemon battles for a while in order to solve crimes. The spin-off adventure video game "Detective Pikachu" is coming to Nintendo 3DS consoles on Mar. 23, and the character also got his own massive Amiibo.

In the video game, Pikachu answers to no one and is on the move to help his friend/partner Tim Goodman find his missing father. When Goodman orders Pikachu to use thunderbolt, the electric-type Pokemon responds with, "Hey, don't boss me around."

The trailer of the video game shows Pikachu in a whole new light with his detective cap on. "Detective Pikachu" brings the game content from "Detective Pikachu: Birth of a New Duo" and additional story campaign as well. One of the highlights in the trailer is Pikachu's ability to speak human language. This means Pikachu has a lot to say rather than just "pika-pika" or "pikachu." Some netizens even point out that Pikachu in the video game sounds a lot like American actor Danny DeVito.

The trailer also features a little bit of the title's gameplay with players being able to control Pikachu and Tim Goodman. Magnemite, Machoke, Machamp, Glalie, and more Pokemon are also included in the trailer.

The video game is not the only highlight of the news about Detective Pikachu. It was also announced by Pokemon.co that a giant Detective Pikachu Amiibo will accompany the video game on its release date. The Amiibo is almost twice the size of small Pikachu and is wearing the cool and slick detective's cap.

The teaser for the upcoming video game sparks excitement among gamers. One person on YouTube commented that Detetive Pikachu is Sherlock Holmes' sensei.

"Detective Pikachu" will hit stores in the United States on Mar. 23 for the Nintendo 3DS family. There are no further information from Nintendo if the video game will be made available on other Nintendo consoles.
