The Determination to Die

"After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David when they defied the Philistines who were gathered there to battle and the men of Israel had withdrawn. He arose and struck the Philistines until his hand was weary and clung to the sword, and the LORD brought about a great victory that day." – 2 Samuel 23:9 10 NASB

Eleazar was one of the "three mighty men" of Isreal that stood before Goliath and the Philistines on that fateful day in the History of God. He was determined, and struck the Philistines until his hand was weary and clung to the sword. This determination against an uneasy challenge is something we should all wish to resemble in faith.

Staying on the job until the task was accomplished - taking responsbility till the end. It is this kind of personal determination through which "the Lord brought about a great victory."

If you want to be mighty in God’s sight, you need to apply these same principles in your life.

God wants you to be bold and willing to stand up with courage. Faith that does not shake in the face of opposition.

We need to be determined and resolute in the face of challenges. Problems may seem impossible to overcome, and we may be tired and weary from our efforts, however, when alone, exhausted and unappreciated, we should continue to do the things that God has called us to do.

Staying on guard and remaining at our post, until our assignment is complete and victory is won.

Prayer: Father, help me to be mighty in Your sight. Give me boldness and faith to serve You without fear. Give me great determination to stay focused on Your calling on my life. In the name of Jesus Christ, we prayed. Amen.
