Detroit Pistons NBA 2015 draft news, rumors: Detroit trading picks?

Wikipedia

The Detroit Pistons probably have one of the promising and youngest stars on paper and the team could get a big lift from a vet or two. The question however is how will they go about it?

In the coming NBA 2015 Draft, the Pistons find themselves selecting at number 8 but word has it that the Pistons are one of multiple teams interested in moving up the NBA Draft order. The 4th pick seems to be their target, something currently held by the New York Knicks.

Knicks president Phil Jackson bared that he is open to trading the pick but it would depend on what would be placed on the table. A straight swap could be possible but the Knicks could be looking for something more on the table than that like maybe an NBA vet or two.

Greg Monroe would have been perfect to add but the fact of the matter is that the Knicks don't need to trade for him as he is expected to hit free agency. So regardless of what deal comes up, the Knicks don't have to deal with the Pistons for Greg Monroe since they can chase him in the free agent market.

So how can the Pistons come up with an enticing deal which would jack them up to the 4th spot? This year's pick and future picks? The possibilities are endless.

But one thing that is for sure, the Pistons are trying to hone up their options. It seems obvious that they want a blue-chip rookie or a proven NBA veteran to help their cause. The team looks a lot like a college team with Andre Drummond, Caldwell-Pope, Spencer Dinwiddie and Quincy Miller all on guaranteed contract with the franchise.

Hence it does make sense that the team would be looking at a NBA vet or a top rookie prospect which could include D' Angelo Russell, Emmanuel Mudiay or even Justise Winslow.
