'Deus Ex: Mankind Divided' update: Players can beat bosses through combat, conversations and stealth

"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" will yet again give players the option of dealing with bosses in the game in any way they see fit.

This means that players can either choose to kill bosses, use a non-lethal method to overcome them, or simply avoid combat altogether.

According to the game's director, Patrick Fortier, the inclusion of the varied boss-beating mechanics was done in order to provide players with a number of different options in which they could deal with opponents inside the game. Fortier said that the game should be capable of supporting any kind of play style, even if that means players not killing a single boss as they make their way through the game.

The varied ways to beat bosses is a mechanic that was also in the previous game, "Deus Ex: Human Revolution," but there is an added element in the new game that will help reinforce the non-lethal path should players choose it.

In "Deus Ex: Human Revolution," the bosses died in the cutscenes regardless of what method of combat or non-combat players would employ. In "Mankind Divided," a change has been made to account for what gaming style players will choose to use, according to Destructoid. It is worth noting that the inconsistency with cutscenes for "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" was corrected with the arrival of the game's Missing Link downloadable content (DLC).

In related news, "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" will not be having a multiplayer mode when it is released, according to Game Rant.

The decision to omit any kind of multiplayer mode was explained by Fortier, saying including one now would simply not make sense in the game. Fortier said adding multiplayer to the game would have to make sense from a storyline perspective, and that at this point, there is no need for it in "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided."
