The next patch update for "Diablo 3" is a massive one, bringing new content and major gameplay tweaks for the title.

One of the most notable additions to the upcoming 2.3.0 patch is the item Kanai's Cube, the direct antecedent to the Horadric Cube. Using this item, players can break down Legendary items and equip the Legendary item's special effects as passive skills for their characters. The cube can also be used to convert the type of crafting materials to suit the player's needs.

Players can get the Kanai's Cube by exploring an upcoming new zone included in the patch, the frozen wasteland of the Ruins of Sescheron. Aside from the cube, players can also loot and collect other Barbarian-connected items and rewards, discover new areas and point of interests, and fight new enemies. The new areas are where players can collect new Legendary and Set effects, also to be made available in the new patch. Old items will also get a revamp through more balanced item effects.

In addition to new items and unlocked locations, the new patch 2.3.0 will also bring major tweaks in the title's gameplay, particularly in the crafting system. In the update, players will be able to process gears and materials much easier with simplified recipes, and the crafting mats used by the player will now be stored indefinitely.

A new feature to the interface will also be introduced. Starting in Season 4, players will be able to track their explorations and progress through the new Season Journey interface, which will be divided into Chapters for most players, while those who are into advanced levels will have the additional Tiers sub-interface. Since the new sub-interface will only be available to advanced players, the Tiers milestones when completed will yield rarer items and rewards.
